The Art of Relaxation is a Breath Awareness practice designed to bring balance to the nervous system in order to promote mental clarity, optimize energy and effectively manage stress.
The practice involves using our attention to scan the sensations of the body while taking full yet gentle inhales and exhales. Effectively engaging in "active relaxation."
When used regularly this simple technique has been shown to reduce anxiety, improve motivational states and increase neuroplasticity.
The fundamental exercises can be performed while sitting or lying down and can be completed in ten to fifteen minutes with no special clothing or gear required. All that is needed is an environment relatively free of distractions and a mind willing to take a moment of pause.
The Art of Relaxation offers group classes, guided private sessions as well as workshops and retreats. With each offering you will experience the value and effectiveness of active relaxation which you can then utilize to help address health concerns, develop a personalized self care routine or optimize your work/life performance.

Private sessions take place on a traditional massage table and involve lying, sitting, standing and walking exercises. Each session utilizes a combination of breath awareness, visualization & movement cues to create new patterns of movement and activate the natural healing capabilities of the body.
